Mykonian Farm Bakery Class with Brunch – Mykonos Excursions

Mykonian Farm Bakery Class with Brunch

This activity is a combination of a traditional baking class and an experience of the traditional animal and organic farming of a Mykonian Farm. Here, we equip our potential or experienced “bakers” with the tools that they need in order to create delicious Mykonian bread. We will focus on mastering the fundamentals as well as discussing traditional techniques as we practice making our bread on our wood oven. Your instructor and host is the best around: Talented and exceptionally passionate about the craft of baking, she is more than excited to to pass along her tips, recipe and enthusiasm.

The activity takes place at the Mykonian Farm, where you will arrive just after 8:00. Your host will greet you with a traditional treat and make you feel welcomed and part of our family. You will then be taken to a specially arranged spot in order to start your baking lesson, and specifically with the kneading of the bread dough, an approximately 1-hour process. When you have finished, the dough is left to rest for approx. 45 minutes, during which time our farm tour takes place. By the time we finish, it will be time to continue with your baking lesson and to shape the bread into its final form. This step takes approx. 1,5 hours and when we are done, the bread in left in the oven for approx. 45 minutes.

When the baking process comes to an end, you will first taste your freshly baked bread and enjoy the outcome of your lesson. Our hostess will also teach you about Mykonian culture, the history of the island’s farming, its livestock and its crops and make you feel just as if you are visiting close relatives or friends. Brunch will be served with all the dishes made of genuine pure Mykonian products and of course all the ingredients are fresh and local. The experience will come to an end at approx. 13:00, when you are transferred back to your hotel.

Our Favorite Place on Mykonos

This was by far our favorite thing we did on the island over three days. Mike, the cook and Michael our host were absolutely amazing. We were with a small group to do the cooking class and the food was absolutely delicious as was the wine. Meeting the animals on the farm and learning all the things about how it was built was great. We laughed so much and made new friends.

Really wonderful

everything was wonderful. I really enjoyed my time on a farm and the baking class itself was not only useful but also pretty fun. Learned a lot and got to bake my first load of bread in a wooden stove, great experience

The Mykonian Farm was incredible! A wonderful way to explore the countryside of Mykonos, learn some history, and interact with the great team at the farm. The food, wine, and hospitality were beyond amazing. The farm itself is so beautiful and relaxing, we didn’t want to leave! Highly recommend all activities at the Mykonian Farm, it was truly a wonderful experience (and if you love animals, they have many cute ones to look at!). Can’t wait to come back! Truly a highlight of Mykonos.

Farm experience

I booked this experience with my kids, who are all young adults. Our host Mike was gracious, funny and attentive as he guided us through the baking process. A tour of the farm with access to all the animals was a highlight for my animal-loving kids. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was relaxing. It was a nice change to get out of the urban areas we had been visiting.

SO SO SO FUN!!!

We had the BEST time on the farm!!! we got picked up from their taxi service which we thought was helpful because the streets of Mykanos can be a tight fit and somewhat hard to navigate if you're not familiar! We were welcomed with open arms and some yummy Greek coffee, doughnut and snacks! We heard a lot about Mykanls Greek culture and way of living! They had a table set up for the start of the bread which was so.fun to walk through with the hosts! We then drank and ate more Greek snacks then heard more about this incredible farm which has grown immensely since 2013! we got to go on a tour of the farm, we fed cute goats, and saw all of the farm animals and cows! we got to see all the the more private areas for wine tours and other amazing events the farm puts on for everybody! We headed back to check on the homemade Greek bread we made as it was almost ready from their large outdoor oven they were baking it in! our bread was FABULOUS! You have to come!

Best Honeymoon Activity on Mykonos

My wife and I both agree - best part of our time on Mykonos during our honeymoon. We were welcomed with a drink and immediately felt at home with their family. We made dough, then toured the farm. We saw all their animals, fed some goats, then went on a hunt for fresh ingredients to make pizza. After we made our heart shaped pizza, we sat down to eat all the food we got to make (and somehow found room for it all). Lots of pizza, wine, bread, and laughter during our time on the farm. We also learned a lot about Greek food and culture which was a nice conversation that you don’t get in the usual tourist activities. Absolutely a must-do activity, especially for a couple!!
