Ancient Delos Tour – Mykonos Excursions

Ancient Delos Tour

The visit to the ancient Delos island starts with our escort picking you up at approximately 9:15 from your hotel and transfer you to the old port of Mykonos where you will meet your tour guide to start you voyage.

In approximately 30-40 minutes we’ll arrive by ferry at the legendary island and at this point, you disembark for a 2 hour 15 minute visit on this beautiful ‘UNESCO world heritage’ landmark. Once on the island your tour guide will take you through the entire ancient city with its market places, the public squares, the Temple of Apollo, the sanctuary of Artemis, the old city & the amphitheater and walk down the celebrated Lion Street. You will also visit the museum of Delos and admire the Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic and Roman Sculptures, and a collection of vessels from all the periods. Studies of the ancient stones found on the grounds indicate that Delos has been inhabited since the 3rd millennium BC. At the end of your tour, before you board the boat to return back to Mykonos you have some free time to take photos on the site before departing at 13:30. Those who will not join us for our supplementary options, will be transported back to your hotel.

Great tour of ancient ruins, and get the lunch!

Highly recommend the day trip to Delos with lunch on the farm. The trip coordinator communicated well throughout the process, sent us instructions the day before, and contacted me in the morning to make sure we were in the correct place. Once at Delos, our guide was knowledgeable and went at a good pace for the group. We added lunch on the farm, a must! The shuttle driver picked us up from the port and drove us to the farm. The food was fantastic and the scenery was beautiful. We visited at the end of the season, so the Chef was able to come to our table and talk to us. It was truly a wonderful experience. Each person we encountered was kind, authentic and genuine.

Delos a historicalcity

Visit the ancient temple of Apollo, where he was born. How people lived starting from 7th B.C, until Roman invasion. The temple of Iris, which is preserved. Huge archeological site and a must see

Unbelievable experience

The tour was fantastic. Our guide was amazing and so knowledgeable on the history of Delos. She had great enthusiasm sharing the rich history of the island with us. The place is one the of the most important archaeological sites in Greece and they are still making new finds on the island. We were really impressed with the amount of archaeological discoveries here. The guided tour was great to learn the full history of the island. My kids loved all the cats on the island and enjoyed seeing the everywhere.

Delos: A Must see

What an interesting place to visit and so beautiful!! Worth a morning over there if not for the visit but the time on the water. We had a great guide that walked us around and helped us understand the layout and the culture that lived here

Awesome (should read)

We did the Delos tour and Mykonos tour. Delos was beautiful and as a massive Greek mythology buff was great the Delos tour guide took a second to get rolling but once she found her rhythm was great. The highlight of the trip was the Mykonos tour specifically the guide wish I’d grabbed her name but she was a delight and completely made the trip. Highly recommend the Raki kinda waved rn.

Must See Delos!

Loved this tour. A great opportunity to see history and the way people lived years and years ago. The ruins are well preserved and yet offered some things to the imagination. In early Spring the pretty little flowers are in bloom. Don’t miss this tour if you are in Mykonos for a few days. It’s a short Ferry ride away.

Highlight of Mykonos trip

A highlight of trip to Greece . The guide was able to fill in all of the history and one could close your eyes and picture this amazing crossroads in history. The museum was closed indoors due to covid and renovation but the outdoor tour of the area was incredible Nice boat ride out as well leaving and returning to busy restaurant and shopping area
